What is big hawk?

Big Hawk, born John Edward Hawkins, was a rapper from Houston, Texas. He was a member of the Screwed Up Click, a collective of Southern hip-hop artists in Houston. Big Hawk gained recognition for his contributions to the Houston rap scene in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

He released his debut album, "Under Hawk's Wings," in 2002, which received positive reviews from music critics. Some of his popular songs include "Chillin Wit My Broad" and "Dunkey Kong."

Tragically, Big Hawk was killed in a shooting in 2006 at the age of 36. His death was a blow to the Houston rap community, as he was seen as a respected figure in the scene. Despite his untimely death, Big Hawk's music continues to be celebrated by fans of Southern hip-hop.
